Intro to The One by Dolce & Gabbana (2008)

Ok, lets get right into the Dolce and Gabbana The One review. The One, and no I’m not talking about The Matrix, is currently one of the top selling colognes in the United States of America. Knowing it is a top seller, you better believe that it is something you should pay attention to. Right now, people are searching for this cologne about 6,600 times per month on Google alone which confirms there is something about this cologne that is worth looking into.

Lucky for you, CologneMasters has you covered and we are excited to bring you the Dolce and Gabbana The One Review that blow your mind away.

Also, if you’re a football / soccer fan, something pretty cool is that they are a sponsor of the Italian Football Club since 2006. Which is pretty cool since they started their label in 1985! I’d say they have done pretty well!

What does the Cologne Master think of Dolce & Gabbana The One?

Well, for starters and for all of you frag-heads out there, you will typically find The One as an eau de toilette (EDT). (If you’re unsure what this means, check out our explanation here) This is a nice touch because when I spray it on in the morning, it lasts me a full day of work and I can still smell it lingering after I get home. Longevity = Awesome. There have been reports of an EDP out there which would be overkill in my opinion but just make sure you check the bottle.

Next, let’s get to the scent;

Fragrance Pyramid

Top notes – Coriander, Basil, and Grapefruit

Heart notes – Ginger, Orange Blossom, Cardamon

Base notes – Amber, Cedar, Tobacco

If you’re not a CologneMaster and these notes don’t do a lot for you, the two notes that to me are the most noticeable are the amber and tobacco notes. If you are unsure of what amber smells like, imagine a rich vanilla smell.

My final verdict?

This fragrance is awesome! It is currently part of my rotation for daily colognes to wear. The scent is unique enough to be a signature fragrance so you can wear it as your “go-to” cologne. I also like that compared to other men’s fragrances, The One, is one of the newest out there. This is one of my favorite colognes ever.

Feel free to wear The One in almost any situation. It’s light enough to wear it won’t be offensive to your c0-workers and classmates. It also has sex appeal so your love connection will appreciate it. Lastly, with the warmth it brings to the table, you can wear it anytime and not worry about it being seasonal.

What do other people say about The One by Dolce & Gabbana?

Here is a guy that I agree

“Fantastic fragrance, perfect for casual day wear. Easily makes my top 20 of best smelling fragrances. You know when you just want to smell good? This is one of those fragrances. And the discounting makes it a no-brainer.

The performance issues with this fragrance subsided in my case after the bottle had macerated a couple of months after use.”

This lady sure likes The One too…

“GOOD LORD, this smells good to my (female) nose. Subtle and spicy and sweet and masculine and I may begin to ramble because just thinking about it gets me vaguely flustered.

It opens quite citrusy, but after it dries down, and you get the ginger and a touch of tobacco it really comes into itself. It’s not as ambery/musky as you would think upon reading the notes. Absolutely superb”

And I agree with this guy, except on the longevity…

I smelled this fragrance on another man, as he walked past me and I immediately turned my head. I bought the full size of The One.

coriander, basil and grapefruit for top notes are easily gone on my body but the heart is warm blend of ginger, orange blossom and cardamom. I love the heart notes and in the dry down I get sweet+ambery+tobacco.

It is elegance and a sexy fragrance. In dry down, the EDT is 90% similar to EDP. Longevity is not the best but both are very good. Price+longevity+sillage+compliments are equally made.
